We're looking for a Business Development Manager who is passionate about building relationships and creating new opportunities. This is a true hunter role where you'll focus on developing new business, breaking into untapped markets, and expanding our presence with professional sports organizations, universities, municipalities, architects, contractors, and athletic facility developers. You'll also continue to strengthen relationships with existing customers while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.. Responsibilities Own a multi-state territory and develop a strategy for increasing market share within professional sports, collegiate athletics, and recreation facilities. Introduce our products to organizations that have never partnered with us by creating meaningful relationships with key decision-makers. Become the primary point of contact for customers throughout the planning, quoting, and purchasing process. Collaborate with architects, designers, facility planners, and contractors to ensure projects are equipped with the right solutions from concept through completion. Evaluate blueprints, bid documents, and project specifications to identify opportunities early in the sales cycle. Create accurate proposals, product recommendations, and pricing packages tailored to each customer's facility and budget. Coordinate internally with engineering, customer service, and operations to ensure projects move seamlessly from order to installation. Stay connected to industry trends by attending athletic conferences, networking events, and trade shows while continuously expanding your professional network. Manage your territory like your own business, maintaining a healthy pipeline and consistently achieving sales objectives. Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of experience selling technical, engineered, or specification-driven products in an outside sales or business development capacity. A track record of uncovering new opportunities, winning new accounts, and developing long-term customer partnerships. Ability to travel approximately 40-50% throughout North America, including overnight travel, with a valid passport or the ability to obtain one. The confidence to communicate with everyone from athletic directors and facility managers to architects, engineers, and executive leadership. The ability to understand construction drawings, product specifications, and custom solutions without needing an engineering background. Exceptional organization and time management skills while managing a regional territory. Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Experience using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other sales tools to manage activity and forecasts.
