  • 65,000 annually, plus performance-based incentives Position Summary Garnet Hotels is seeking an energetic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead sales efforts for our dual-brand Marriott property in Matteson, Illinois.
The Director of Sales will develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue, grow market share, and build strong relationships within the local and regional business community. This position will manage corporate, group, SMERF, government, sports, association, leisure, and negotiated-account business for both hotels. The ideal candidate has hotel sales leadership experience, strong knowledge of the Chicagoland market, and experience with Marriott sales systems. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales plans for both hotels. Prospect, negotiate, and close new business. Maintain and grow existing client relationships. Manage corporate, group, government, SMERF, sports, association, leisure, and negotiated accounts. Conduct outside sales calls, client presentations, and property tours. Attend networking events, trade shows, chamber meetings, and community events. Build relationships with businesses, organizations, travel planners, and community partners. Respond promptly to sales inquiries and manage RFP submissions. Monitor competitors and local market trends. Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasts, pace reports, and production analyses. Participate in revenue-strategy meetings. Partner with Revenue Management to improve occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR. Coordinate with hotel operations to ensure successful group and client experiences. Maintain accurate account and sales activity records. Follow Marriott sales initiatives and brand standards. Qualifications Minimum three years of hotel sales leadership experience. Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager experience is preferred. Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue goals. Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of the South Suburban Chicago market is preferred. Ability to travel locally for appointments, networking, and sales calls.
