Job Description

This position is based in Peoria, Illinois, and relocation to Peoria is required for employment. Job Summary Shreem Pere Historic, LLC is seeking an experienced and results-driven Complex Director of Catering & Conference Services to lead and oversee all catering, conference services, and event operations for our dual-property hospitality portfolio. This leadership role is responsible for driving catering revenue growth, managing client relationships, overseeing event execution, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences from contract through post-event follow-up across both hotel properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality sales, event management, conference services, and team leadership within full-service hotels or resort environments. This position requires a highly organized professional with outstanding communication, negotiation, and operational management skills who can successfully manage multiple high-level events while maintaining Marriott service standards and profitability goals across both properties. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all catering and conference services operations for dual hotel properties, including weddings, corporate meetings, conventions, social events, and group functions. Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to increase catering revenue, banquet bookings, and market share across both properties. Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, vendors, community partners, and repeat guests. Oversee event planning processes from initial inquiry through final billing and post-event follow-up. Collaborate closely with Sales, Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest satisfaction. Conduct property tours, client presentations, and proposal development to secure new business opportunities. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and event details while maximizing profitability and guest experience. Manage catering and conference services budgets, forecasts, and revenue goals for both properties. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and local business opportunities to develop innovative sales strategies. Utilize hotel sales and CRM systems to manage leads, booking activities, sales reports, and client communications. Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate catering and conference services team members to foster a high-performing culture. Participate in networking events, trade shows, community outreach, and industry associations to promote both hotel properties and generate new business. Maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred but not required. Minimum of 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in hotel catering, conference services, banquet sales, or hospitality event management. Previous experience in a full-service hotel, convention hotel, or Marriott-branded property strongly preferred. Proven track record of achieving catering sales goals and driving revenue growth. Strong knowledge of banquet operations, food & beverage services, and conference/event planning. Experience overseeing operations or sales for multiple hotel properties preferred. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and revenue reporting. Proficiency in hotel sales systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require. Strong customer service mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
