Job Description

Overview
SENTRY SECURITY
Job Description:
New Business Development Executive ("Hunter") Full-Time | Commission-Eligible | Reports to President About Sentry Security Sentry Security is a full-service commercial security integrator designing, installing, monitoring, and servicing intrusion, video surveillance, access control, and fire alarm systems. Built over many decades into a company with a well-established recurring monitoring revenue base and a strong local reputation, Sentry is now investing directly in new business development to complement its growth. The Role This is a 100% new-business hunting role focused on commercial accounts. You will not inherit an existing account book, manage renewals, or run service/project work — your entire job is to identify, pursue, and close new commercial accounts, selling both installation projects and recurring monitoring revenue (RMR). Residential sales are handled by our inside sales team; this role is commercial new business only. You will work closely with the President and the Client Solutions team, but the prospecting, outreach, and closing are yours to own. What You'll Do Prospect and close new commercial integrated security accounts (intrusion, video, access control, fire alarm) — both installation projects and recurring monitoring contracts. Build and manage a referral channel with electrical contractors, low-voltage integrators, and general contractors — identify targets, propose partnership terms, and maintain the relationship. Use LinkedIn and direct outreach to identify and engage decision-makers at target accounts (school districts, forest preserves, property managers, facility managers, business owners). Represent Sentry at local trade association events and industry gatherings to build referral relationships. Track every prospect, source, and deal stage in the company CRM — pipeline hygiene is part of the job, not an afterthought. Partner with Client Solutions to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base. Report weekly on pipeline status, activity, and progress toward quota. What We're Looking For A demonstrated hunter — someone who has carried and consistently hit a new-business quota, not just managed existing accounts. Experience selling in a long-cycle, technical B2B environment is a strong plus — security, fire/life safety, access control, commercial electrical, or managed IT/services backgrounds all transfer well. Able to sell both sides of the business — installation projects and long-term recurring monitoring relationships — and knows how to position each. Self-directed and comfortable building a pipeline from scratch, including cold outreach and partner development. Strong communicator, credible in front of property managers, business owners, and contractors alike. CRM discipline — willing to log activity and keep the pipeline current, not just work from memory. Compensation Base salary plus uncapped commission. Sentry pays commission on both installation dollars and recurring monitoring revenue (RMR) — with RMR commissioned at a multiple of the monthly value, reflecting the long-term value it creates for the company. Specific base and commission structure will be discussed during the interview process and finalized based on experience. Why Sentry An established, growing company with a long track record of success — not a startup sales gig with unproven product-market fit. A recurring-revenue business model that rewards sales performance directly and predictably. Direct access to and support from company leadership — this role has visibility and priority. A dedicated hunting role, free of account management and service responsibilities, so you can focus on what you do best.
