OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Director Further Processor Field Sales opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. In this highly collaborative and customer-focused role, you will drive new business development, strengthen customer relationships, and deliver sales growth across product categories. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities, resolving customer challenges, and achieving sales objectives while serving as a trusted resource and directional leader for team members. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of Further Processor products, market dynamics, and customer requirements, along with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record in sales. Additionally, this role provides cross-functional sales support and can seamlessly cover customer accounts as needed during team member absences or travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned. Responsible for promoting and selling fresh and frozen pork products

Guide team members directionally in business decisions

Responsible to accompany customers on necessary plant tours

Search for new business and make 20 to 30 customer visits annually

Analyze market conditions for supply and demand and provide information on cash markets

Work with production and QA to resolve customer complaints concerning product specification issues

Cross train and provide necessary coverage with all processor sales associates in the department

Monitor and report on sales performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.

Drive initiatives to expand product offerings, penetrate new markets, and improve customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required or preferred. Required:

10+ years of experience in either sales or product management.

Knowledge of protein packing plant operations and pork product specifications.

Detail oriented highly organized and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Excellent listening, negotiating, presentation and analytical skills.

Assertive personality with ethics and integrity.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel and Power Point).

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree, preferred.

Food processing/protein experience.

SQL, and Tableau.

SCHEDULE

Regular business hours (7 to 5) with occasional evening and weekend work and 40% travel.

While performing the duties of this job while visiting the plant operations, the employee is required to move around the plant facility.
