Job Description

Sugar House Hotel is seeking a Director of Sales to join our opening team in Winooski, Vermont. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a sales professional who knows how to launch a hotel into the market, build account relationships, and generate group, event, and transient demand. The Director of Sales will play a critical role in positioning the hotel, building local and regional partnerships, and helping establish long-term commercial success. We are offering up to $10,000 in travel and relocation reimbursement. This position is also eligible for a yearly 15% incentive plan. What you'll do Build and execute the hotel's pre-opening and opening sales plan Prospect, solicit, negotiate, and close corporate, group, leisure, wedding, and event business Conduct sales calls, site tours, networking, and community outreach Respond to RFPs and manage pace, production, and forecasting Partner closely with revenue management, operations, and leadership on strategy and positioning Help maximize rooms, meeting, event, and food and beverage revenue opportunities What we're looking for Required 5+ years of hotel sales leadership experience Proven success with both group and transient business generation Strong negotiation, forecasting, relationship-building, and account management skills Ability to be market-facing and highly active in the local and regional sales effort Preferred Pre-opening hotel experience Experience in boutique, lifestyle, Marriott, or upscale full-service environments Existing Vermont or New England market relationships Experience selling wedding, social, or event-driven business This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who wants real ownership in building a hotel's market presence from the ground up. About The Sugarhouse The Sugarhouse Hotel is planned for a late-summer 2026 opening as a 115-room Marriott Tribute hotel with a rooftop restaurant/bar, flexible meeting, wedding and event space, a fitness center, and views of the Winooski River and Adirondacks. Public materials describe the hotel as net-zero, all-electric, zero-fossil-fuel, and LEED Platinum. $105,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
