The Fayetteville Marksmen are seeking a dynamic Director of Ticket Sales to lead our comprehensive ticket sales efforts, maximize revenue across all categories, and enhance the fan experience for Marksmen hockey.
Position Overview:
The Director of Ticket Sales will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing comprehensive strategies to maximize overall ticket sales and revenue for the Fayetteville Marksmen across all categories, including season tickets, group sales, corporate packages, and individual game tickets. This leadership role involves overseeing the entire ticket sales cycle, from strategic planning and team management to prospecting, closing, and fostering strong relationships within the community and with our valued fans.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed aggressive ticket sales goals across all categories (season, group, corporate, individual). Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing ticket sales team, fostering a culture of success, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee the identification, prospecting, and cultivation of new sales opportunities with businesses, schools, youth sports organizations, community groups, and individual fans. Manage the entire sales process, including lead generation, outreach, presentations, contract negotiation, and fulfillment for all ticket products. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and partners to encourage repeat business, referrals, and long-term loyalty. Collaborate closely with the marketing, game operations, and community relations teams to create compelling ticket packages, promotions, and unique fan experiences. Monitor and analyze sales performance data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and provide regular, insightful reports to management. Represent the Fayetteville Marksmen at community events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote ticket sales and enhance brand visibility. Recruit, train, develop, and manage sales staff and interns, ensuring they have the tools and support to succeed. Manage sales budget, forecasting, and reporting processes.
Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities:
Proven track record of success in sales leadership or management, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in sports, entertainment, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in overseeing and achieving sales targets across various ticket categories (season, group, corporate). Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to achieving and exceeding targets. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the hockey season and for special events. Passion for hockey and the Fayetteville Marksmen organization.
