Job Summary As the Director of Sales, America's at Wire Belt, you will… Be a strategic and hands-on commercial leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer relationships across the region. This role oversees a hybrid sales organization consisting of seven direct sales employees and two Independent Manufacturer's Representative (IMR) firms—one with six field representatives and another with two to four field representatives. The company manufactures and sells a mix of consumable MRO products and capital equipment, including stainless steel wire conveyor belting and conveyor systems, primarily serving the food processing industry with additional sales into various industrial sectors. The Director of Sales will play a critical role in shaping sales strategy, developing talent, and ensuring consistent execution across all channels. Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy Works closely with Vice President of Sales and Marketing to develop and execute The Americas sales strategy aligned with corporate goals and market opportunities. Takes ownership of leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of seven direct sales professionals, fostering a high-performance, values-based culture. Manage and optimize relationships with two Independent Manufacturer's Rep firms, ensuring alignment, accountability, and consistent market coverage. Establish annual sales targets, forecasts, and budgets; monitor performance and adjust plans as needed. Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats to inform strategic decisions. Customer & Market Development Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, OEMs, distributors, and industry partners. Support major account negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term agreements. Drive customer engagement initiatives, including site visits, product demonstrations, and participation in industry events. Ensure the voice of the customer is integrated into product development, service offerings, and strategic planning. Operational Excellence Implement clear sales processes, KPIs, Metrics, and reporting systems to track performance, and ensure transparency and accountability across the hybrid sales team. Collaborate closely with Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction. Oversee CRM utilization and data integrity to support, pipeline management, close rates, and performance analytics. Support the VP of Sales & Marketing in developing promotional strategies, product positioning, and go-to-market initiatives. Team Development & Culture Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent across direct and rep organizations. Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and field visits to support continuous improvement. Promote a culture of safety, integrity, collaboration, and customer-centricity. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (required). MBA with a concentration in Leadership or Marketing (preferred). Experience 10-15 years of progressive experience in Sales and Marketing roles. Minimum 4-6 years in sales leadership positions managing both direct and indirect sales teams. Proven success selling industrial equipment, consumables, or capital goods—experience in food processing or related industries is preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead hybrid sales organizations and manage independent rep firms. Strong background in strategic planning, forecasting, and sales process optimization. Skills & Competencies Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and financial acumen, including forecasting and P&L awareness. Ability to travel approximately 50% across North America. Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making. High degree of initiative, accountability, and customer focus. Success Indicators Achievement of annual revenue and margin targets. Strengthened market presence in core and adjacent industries. High engagement and performance across both direct and rep sales teams. Improved customer satisfaction and retention. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to support growth initiatives.
