POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales & Operations Planning Systems Manager is responsible for owning and continuously improving the company's planning systems and processes, with a primary focus on S&OP enablement, MRP integrity, and supply planning execution within a manufacturing environment. This role works in close partnership with the Planning team to ensure that demand and supply plans are accurately translated into system-driven execution. The role ensures that D365 and related planning tools are configured, adopted, and utilized effectively to drive reliable production planning, inventory optimization, and material availability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Planning Systems Ownership Serve as the business owner for S&OP and MRP systems (D365 and related tools) in partnership with the Planning team, ensuring configuration supports operational requirements. Collaborate with Planning to standardize planning parameters, item coverage, and master data structures across plants. Partner with IT and Planning to prioritize and implement system enhancements that improve planning accuracy, usability, and visibility. MRP Integrity & Execution Partner with the Planning team to ensure MRP outputs are accurate, actionable, and aligned with planning intent, including planned orders, supply signals, and inventory projections. Jointly identify and resolve root causes of MRP instability (e.g., master data gaps, lead time inaccuracies, BOM/route issues). Establish routines with Planning to monitor MRP health, exception messages, and adherence to planning policies. MRP Integrity & Execution Partner with the Planning team to ensure MRP outputs are accurate, actionable, and aligned with planning intent, including planned orders, supply signals, and inventory projections. Jointly identify and resolve root causes of MRP instability (e.g., master data gaps, lead time inaccuracies, BOM/route issues). Establish routines with Planning to monitor MRP health, exception messages, and adherence to planning policies. Master Data & Planning Governance Partner with Planning to define and enforce standards for planning master data, including item setups, safety stock policies, lead times, and order policies. Collaborate across Planning, Operations, and Finance to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Establish governance processes with Planning to sustain data integrity and disciplined system usage at scale. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement Develop KPIs with the Planning team to measure planning effectiveness, including: MRP accuracy Inventory turn OTIF (On-Time In-Full) Plan adherence Review plan vs. execution variances with Planning and drive joint corrective actions. Lead targeted improvement initiatives in partnership with Planning to enhance planning reliability and inventory productivity. Change Enablement & Adoption Partner with Planning to drive adoption of standard planning processes and system usage across sites. Align with cross-functional teams (Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Finance) to reinforce shared accountability for execution. Serve as the primary liaison between Planning, the business, and IT to deliver practical, executable system solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or related field; Master's degree a plus. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing supply chain, production planning, or MRP-driven environments. Hands-on experience with ERP planning systems (D365 F&O preferred), including MRP configuration and planning parameters. Strong understanding of S&OP processes and the linkage between demand planning, supply planning, and execution. Proven ability to lead change and drive adoption of planning systems and process improvements across cross-functional teams.
