Job Description

SummaryTrue Tea is looking for an tea enthusiastic, relationship-driven wholesale manager to join our small team and grow our wholesale business and expand our presence with retailers, cafes, restaurants, and other specialty accounts throughout Portland and beyond.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who truly loves tea, and building warm and authentic relationships with customers. Our ideal candidate is outgoing, driven, organized, personable and comfortable taking ownership of the wholesale role from initiating relationships with new accounts to maintaining quality relationships with existing ones. About the RoleAs Wholesale Manager, you will be responsible for expanding and managing True Tea's wholesale accounts. You will identify new opportunities, introduce potential customers to the True Tea brand, manage existing relationships, and help create an intentional, sustainable, and quality wholesale program.

You will work closely with the True Tea team to ensure our wholesale partners have the products, information, and support they need to be successful.

Key ResponsibilitiesWholesale Sales & Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new wholesale opportunities throughout Portland, Oregon, and other target markets.

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective wholesale customers.

Reach out to prospective accounts through email, phone, social media, in-person visits, events, and other appropriate channels.

Develop authentic and quality relationships with accounts. Meet or exceed established wholesale sales and account-growth goals.

Account ManagementRegularly check in with accounts to understand their needs and identify opportunities for additional sales.

Help accounts with product selection, merchandising, reorders, and product education.

Monitor account activity and follow up on reorders and inactive accounts.

Resolve customer questions or issues quickly and professionally.

Brand RepresentationServe as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador for True Tea, and tea in and of itself!

Clearly communicate True Tea's story, products, values, and points of differentiation.

Represent True Tea at trade shows, markets, pop-ups, tastings, and other industry events as needed.

Help identify opportunities to increase brand visibility within the community.

Wholesale OperationsMaintain accurate wholesale customer and sales information.

Coordinate orders and customer needs with the True Tea team.

Help maintain wholesale pricing, product information, sales materials, and account records.

Track sales activity and provide regular updates on wholesale performance and opportunities.

Gather customer and market feedback and communicate insights to the True Tea team.

What We're Looking ForSales experience is a plus, however we are more interested in your enthusiasm about the role and the community. Strong relationship-building and communication skills, both internally and with accounts. Comfortable with both sales outreach and face-to-face customer interactions.

Extremely comfortable using Instagram and social media as a tool for communication. Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Highly organized and able to manage multiple accounts and priorities.

Strong follow-through and attention to detail.

A genuine interest in tea and the specialty food and beverage world. Comfortable representing a growing brand in a professional, personable, and adaptable way.

Familiarity with the Portland specialty food, beverage, retail, or hospitality community is a plus.

Existing relationships with retailers, cafes, restaurants, hotels, or specialty food accounts are a plus.

Understanding of distribution is a plus. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. This role requires driving to visit accounts. You don't need to be a sales expert on day one, but you should be genuinely thrilled by the idea of working with tea and be eager to learn, and excited to share a great product with others. You are someone who enjoys walking into a new shop and introducing yourself, follows up when you say you will, and genuinely cares about helping customers and the team succeed as a whole.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of sales, relationship management, community building, and entrepreneurship.
