SENSENIG TURKEY FARM
Sales Manager Job Description July 2026
Job Title:
Sales Manager Reports To:
Director of Operations Location:
Sensenig Turkey Farm —
Lititz, PA Supervisory Responsibilities:
None — individual contributor role working in close coordination with the management team
Job Type:
Full-Time Who We Are Sensenig Turkey Farm is a family-owned agricultural operation committed to quality, reliability, stewardship, and strong operational execution. With deep roots in turkey farming and food production, Sensenig Turkey Farm plays an important role in the poultry supply chain by caring for livestock, supporting processing operations, and serving customers with consistency and excellence. The work is practical, hands-on, and important. Success in this environment requires dependable people who understand agriculture, value hard work, respect the process, and take pride in doing the job the right way. Who We're Looking For Sensenig Turkey Farm is seeking an ambitious, relational, and growth-minded Sales Manager to own and expand our customer relationships. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Sales Manager is the next priority hire for the company's growth — the person who takes Sensenig Turkey Farm significantly beyond its current trajectory. This role owns roughly 100 annual customer relationships across our four profit centers: further processing, farmers markets, food service distributors, and retail. The Sales Manager is the bridge between what has been sold and what needs to be produced and shipped — communicating committed orders to production, coordinating delivery schedules with logistics, and partnering with quality control to make sure every promise made to a customer is a promise kept. This is a role for a closer with a hunter mentality who also genuinely cares — about the customer, the product, and the team behind it. The right person is as comfortable landing a new account as they are digging into a packaging problem for an existing one. Core Characteristics A Closer More than a good communicator — someone who can confidently ask for the sale, navigate objections, and bring deals across the finish line. Honest, With High Integrity Represents the company truthfully in every interaction. Makes commitments carefully and keeps them consistently. Passionate Genuinely cares about the customer and the product — not just hitting a number. Takes pride in what Sensenig Turkey Farm produces and how it reaches the people who depend on it. Ambitious, With Drive Goal-oriented with a hunter mentality. Actively seeks out new opportunities, new clients, and new markets rather than waiting for them to appear. Emotionally Intelligent Reads people well, anticipates customer needs, and adapts their approach to each relationship. Handles difficult conversations with composure and empathy. Put Together Strong personal presentation. This person represents Sensenig Turkey Farm externally and shows up in a way that reflects well on the company and the family behind it. A Team Player Works hand-in-hand with the Director of Operations, Production Manager, Logistics Manager, and Quality Control Manager. Understands that every sale depends on the whole operation delivering together. Relational Friendly and authentic. Builds relationships naturally and maintains them over the long haul — with customers, teammates, and partners alike. Primary Responsibilities Maintain Current Customer Relationships Own and nurture approximately 100 annual customer relationships across all four profit centers: further processing, farmers markets, food service distributors, and retail. Serve as the primary point of contact for existing accounts, ensuring consistent communication and satisfaction. Identify Opportunities and Land New Business Identify new sales opportunities across all profit centers, with metrics tied to company growth targets. Actively pursue and land new clients and customers. Support the launch of new products into existing and new markets. New Customer Onboarding Gather all specifications, delivery requirements, and account information when bringing on a new account. Ensure production, logistics, and quality control have everything they need to serve the new customer correctly from day one. Product and Process Knowledge Maintain current, thorough knowledge of the full product line. Understand how the product is made, transported, and stored — and the specific requirements of each customer (fresh vs. frozen, processing dates, sizes, and specs). Delivery Schedule Coordination Create and maintain delivery schedules in coordination with the Logistics Manager. Own the customer-facing side of scheduling while the Logistics Manager owns execution. Cross-Department Communication Communicate committed orders and customer needs across departments — primarily with the Director of Operations, and regularly with the Production Manager and Logistics Manager. Participate in regular cross-department meetings to keep sales, production, and delivery aligned. Marketing and Advertising Lead marketing and advertising efforts to cast a wider net beyond direct selling. Build brand visibility that supports long-term growth — with the expectation that this role evolves into a Sales and Marketing Manager position over time. Customer Service and Problem-Solving Serve as the customer's advocate when issues arise (e.g., packaging failures or product concerns). Identify and communicate the problem to the right people internally — owning the resolution rather than passing it off. Qualifications Required 3-5 years of sales experience within a larger team structure — someone used to working within organized departments where finance and operations help set goals, not a lone-ranger seller. 3-5 years of food sales experience. Tech savvy — Microsoft Office proficiency at minimum, with the ability to adopt Salesforce or a similar CRM. Marketing and advertising experience. Valid driver's license and own vehicle. Strong problem-solving skills and follow-through. Honest, reliable, and emotionally intelligent. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Strongly Preferred Turkey or poultry sales experience. Bilingual — English and Spanish (several of our annual customers are Spanish-speaking, and this role works closely with the Logistics Manager).
Note:
We hold these requirements loosely — the right person may not check every box. If you believe you're a strong fit for this role, we encourage you to apply. Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions The Sales Manager will divide time between office work, customer visits, farmers markets, and the production facility. This role requires regular travel to customer locations using their own vehicle, extended periods of driving, and occasional presence in active production areas that may be cold, wet, and noisy. When in production areas, PPE will be required. The role may involve lifting product samples and marketing materials up to 40 lbs, standing for extended periods at markets or customer events, and maintaining a professional presence through long customer-facing days. What We Offer A high-impact growth role within a growing, family-owned agricultural operation. The opportunity to build and shape the sales function — and grow with it as it evolves into a sales and marketing leadership role. A team that is actively investing in building a strong culture and developing its people. Competitive compensation — specific range to be discussed during the hiring process. Schedule and benefit details to be discussed during the hiring process. How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume or work history summary outlining relevant sales experience, food industry background, marketing capabilities, and any bilingual skills. This job description is an outline of the primary tasks assigned and may be adjusted at management's discretion. Employees are expected to assist Sensenig Turkey Farm in achieving its goals, even if such tasks extend beyond this outline. This job description does not constitute an employment contract, implied or otherwise, beyond an at-will relationship and is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and job requirements change.
