As Business Development Manager, you will drive new business growth for Bartell's portfolio of leadership development, selection, and organizational diagnostic solutions. This is a revenue-generating sales role for someone who sees selling as a craft and a career. You'll own the full sales cycle - qualifying inbound leads, scoping and proposing solutions, negotiating, and closing new B2B clients across industries. You'll also pick up opportunities surfaced by our consulting team and carry them from expressed interest to signed engagement. Great salespeople know the best opportunities often come after the work is done. In addition to new business generation, you'll systematically follow up with clients after engagements to uncover expansion work and re-engage former clients to rekindle relationships. Along the way, you'll keep a disciplined, well-maintained pipeline in our CRM, support on marketing campaigns and lead generation, and represent Bartell at conferences and networking events. Successful candidates will be able to work professionally and independently in a small office environment. You will have the autonomy to determine where to focus to make the greatest impact on growth. This is primarily an in-office role, with the majority of time expected to be spent at our State College, PA location. Once established, there is the opportunity for hybrid work flexibility. Position Requirements 2+ years of B2B service sales experience (consulting, professional services, SaaS, or staffing). Experience selling into more than one industry - i.e. manufacturing, healthcare, education, government, and professional services. A consultative, solution-oriented approach to selling - able to uncover a client's real pain and position offerings creatively to address it. Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to write a compelling prospecting email, build proposals, and follow up systematically. Comfortable with CRM tools, email marketing platforms, and basic digital marketing. Self-led and internally motivated - keeps productively busy without direction and treats obstacles as problems to solve. Resilient in the face of objections and slow sales cycles. Genuinely curious about organizational health and leadership development. Thrives in a small-company environment where resourcefulness matters and wearing multiple hats is expected Bachelor's degree preferred - business, communications, or marketing backgrounds are a natural fit Ability and willingness to travel.
