Job Description:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a field-based hunter role responsible for driving territory growth across the Northeast by acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts in the sign and graphics film segment. Job Summary Drive new business development across an assigned Northeast territory through a mix of field visits and strategic phone outreach, with approximately 60% travel Execute 20-25 meaningful customer conversations on office days through structured time blocking and proactive outbound prospecting Visit 5-10 customer accounts per day while traveling, prioritizing large prospects while balancing maintenance and to-be-qualified accounts Utilize Salesforce and mapping tools to plan, execute, and document all field activity, logging notes and follow-up tasks immediately after each interaction Analyze sales data regularly to identify trends, evaluate territory performance, and uncover growth opportunities Maintain bi-weekly territory review meetings with an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to align on pipeline and priorities Grow gross margin dollars within the territory by a minimum of 10% year-over-year
Minimum Requirements:
2-3 or more years of outside/field sales experience with a demonstrated hunter mindset and proactive outbound approach Experience managing multi-state territories and planning complex travel schedules Stable employment history, and clear examples of exceeding activity and revenue targets Proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM, plus Microsoft Office Strong work ethic, discipline, and coachability Comfort managing a high volume of daily activity, including 60 or more dials per day on office days and 7 or more client visits per day in the field Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 60% of the time, with up to 70-80% travel during the ramp-up period Must be located in the NE Virginia to New Jersey/Philadelphia corridor

Background in industrial distribution, automotive aftermarket, or related field sales Demonstrated ability to self-manage with strong time-blocking habits, urgency, and initiative without being prompted
