Job Summary:

Oak City Academy is seeking a Development & Partnerships Manager to support the mission, vision, and long-term growth of Oak City Academy. This position develops and maintains relationships with current and prospective donors, alumni families, parents, grandparents, churches, community partners, and other supporters of the Academy. The Development & Partnerships Manager works closely with the Head of School and Leadership Team to identify fundraising opportunities, cultivate donors, coordinate development initiatives, and communicate the impact of giving to the Oak City Academy community. This role requires a personable, organized, and mission-minded individual who can build genuine relationships and confidently communicate the Academy's story and needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ Commitment to OCA's mission and passion for cultivating a community of kingdom-hearted learners. Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in development, fundraising, or community engagement (school or nonprofit preferred). Demonstrated leadership skills & highly relational. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Organized & detail-oriented. Resourceful and able to think through problems towards creative and effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Organized and self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events. Maintains a positive, relaxed demeanor under stress. Dependable and consistent follow-through with responsibilities and tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of Google Workspace and the ability to effectively use technology to support communication, organization, and development activities. Ability to learn and effectively utilize a variety of software programs and digital platforms, including donor management/CRM systems, project management tools, and graphic design/content creation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Trello, Monday.com, Canva, and school-specific platforms). Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with leadership, staff, families, donors, and community partners. Creative problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Relations & Cultivation Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with current, prospective, and past donors. Identify opportunities to cultivate individuals, families, businesses, churches, foundations, and community partners who may have an interest in supporting Oak City Academy. Maintain regular communication with donors through personal outreach, meetings, phone calls, emails, newsletters, and special events. Coordinate donor acknowledgments, thank-you communications, and stewardship activities to ensure supporters feel valued and informed. Maintain accurate and confidential donor records and give histories. Coordinate the Legacy Club (grandparents) and Fan Club (parents) programs at OCA, including quarterly meetings, annual events (Grandparents Day), and follow-up communications Fundraising & Development Assist in developing and implementing an annual development and fundraising plan aligned with Oak City Academy's strategic priorities. Coordinate and support fundraising campaigns, annual giving initiatives, special projects, and capital needs. Research potential funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and community partnerships. Assist with preparing fundraising proposals, donor communications, and presentations. Track fundraising goals, commitments, and progress and provide regular updates to leadership. Analyze data in the CRM to inform fundraising strategy Campaign Planning and Execution Coordinate fundraising campaigns and capital campaigns Set campaign goals and create a strategy to accomplish those goals Create digital campaign emails Track ROI on each campaign strategy Prepare the annual report Community & Relationship Development Represent Oak City Academy positively within the broader community and develop relationships that increase awareness and support for Oak City Academy. Cultivate relationships with churches, businesses, civic organizations, foundations, and other community partners. Identify opportunities for corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations, and community partnerships. Participate in school events and activities that provide opportunities to engage with families, supporters, and prospective donors. Board Partnerships Work with the OCA Board of Trustees in their giving and potential giving relationships. Prepare fundraising reports as needed for board meetings. Communication & Storytelling Help communicate the impact of donations by sharing stories of students, teachers, programs, and initiatives that reflect the mission of Oak City Academy. Collaborate with the Marketing/Communications team to develop donor communications, newsletters, campaigns, and promotional materials. Represent OCA at community networking events including but not limited to the Chamber of Commerce and build positive relationships with community members. Collaborate with community and organization leaders to create deeper partnerships for OCA. Meet with potential champions both on and off campus. Prepare development-related presentations and materials for donors, families, and community partners. Event Planning Strategize and execute major events such as an annual OCA Gala and/or Shark Tank, Grandparents Day, etc. Work with the volunteer team to secure the resources needed for fundraising events. Manage logistics, budgets, and communications for fundraising and champion events. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain organized and accurate development records, donor information, correspondence, and reports. Monitor fundraising deadlines, follow-up activities, and donor commitments. Assist with planning and coordinating fundraising events and donor gatherings. Work collaboratively with Finance and Administration to ensure appropriate tracking and reporting of donations. Maintain confidentiality of donor and financial information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School. Identify opportunities to cultivate individuals, families, businesses, churches, foundations, and community partners who may have an interest in supporting Oak City Academy. Maintain regular communication with donors through personal outreach, meetings, phone calls, emails, newsletters, and special events. Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position are light to medium and may include setting up and breaking down for events, such as moving tables, arranging chairs, and transporting bins or other event materials. The position may also require purchasing or picking up supplies and materials needed for development, fundraising, partnership, and community engagement activities during scheduled work hours.
