Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
: Under the supervision of the Operations Director, the Employer Development Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the business community through strategic outreach and marketing initiatives. This role develops and promotes apprenticeship programs and other work-based learning opportunities, collaborating with employers to develop talent pipelines that meet workforce needs. This position also supports the efforts of WorkOne service personnel and assists job seekers in achieving successful employment outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and cultivate strategic partnerships with businesses throughout the region to advance workforce development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional Economic Development organizations and Chambers of Commerce to coordinate workforce development, skills training, economic development, and other initiatives of mutual interest.
  • Serve as the executive-level point of contact for all internal and external business development activities within the region.
  • Provide leadership to the regional Business Services Team, including representatives from RVR, DWD, and Veterans Services, by attending monthly meetings and fostering cross-agency collaboration.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor regional business development performance metrics and outcome measures to support continuous improvement.
  • Promote and expand apprenticeship programs through employer outreach, recruitment events, strategic partnerships, and workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties and lead special projects as assigned in support of organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior work experience in marketing/promotion/outreach the areas of workforce and/or economic development.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills; must be able to build relationships and interact effectively with a diverse population including the business community, government representatives, Work One staff and job seekers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to business groups, workforce partners, local elected officials, and/or the Regional Workforce Board and market business services products and implement business recruitment and training procedures.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship regulations and best practices
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Internet Explorer
  • High energy, flexibility and outstanding organizational skills to multi-task and manage regional workforce development projects and produce solid results.
  • Strong research and analysis abilities to collect and report data and information about business needs in southeast Indiana.
  • Pro-active problem-solving skills to resolve matters effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Creative self-starter who can take initiative & work independently as well as collaborate and contribute positively to team efforts.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively and possesses efficient problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to an insured vehicle to travel throughout the region.
Salary will be commensurate with experience
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
