Job Description

Purpose of Position:
To generate/increase revenue for four hotels by performing sales activities to maximize occupancy in the hotel and meeting space. This position is 75% remote with a requirement to visit all four hotels each quarter.
Essential Functions:
1. Creation of new business through various efforts, such as sales calls, direct marketing, and public appointments. 2. Respond to all inquiries for group room blocks and meetings with information and contracts to secure the business. 3. Make outside sales calls to area businesses to introduce the hotel and its services. 4. Emphasis on outside sales calls is a requirement for the position. 5. Call on businesses in feeder markets to generate incoming group and individual business. 6. Put strong efforts towards creating off and shoulder season business by attracting corporate groups, team training experiences, weddings and other events that occupy both meeting space and sleeping rooms. 7. Prepare all of the contract details for execution by the General Manager, invoice and collect all deposits due in a timely manner. 8. Maintain positive working relationships with existing client base. 9. Maintain records of sales activity and provide regular reporting. 10. Maintain client contact throughout. 11. Prepare group resume and brief front desk staff on incoming groups. 12. Make recommendations for setting rates and maximizing revenue. 13. Participate in Revenue Management calls. 14. Make recommendations for advertising opportunities. 15. Develop and follow annual marketing plan. 16. Monitor final billing from groups and events to ensure timely collection. 17. Participate in weekly sales & marketing meetings. 18. Represent the hotel at area business and social functions. 19. Perform additional tasks are requested by VP Operations or General Manager.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, analyze, and clearly communicate goal and achievements, as well as problems and solutions, to hotel staff and upper management. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to build a strong and successful organization through leadership and teamwork. Mandatory Job Requirements 1. Neat, well groomed appearance. 2. Proficient in computer office programs including Word, Excel. 3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 4. Able to work independently with minimum supervision. Accountability 1. Maintain a high level of quality and service. 2. Meet or exceed set revenue and sales goals. 3. Execute tasks on annual marketing plan. 4. Maintain acceptable scores on client satisfaction surveys. Experience or Training Required 1. 3 years previous hotel sales experience and knowledge of hotel sales and promotion procedures and methods preferred but not required. 2. Bachelors degree preferred. 3. Knowledge of tour, leisure travel and meetings industries. 4. Knowledge of hotel reservations and Property Management systems. 5. Able to supervise and work interactively with co-workers.
