Job Description
About Terra Terra Behavioral Health is building something different — a modern behavioral health organization grounded in integrity, clinical excellence, and operational discipline. We believe care should be human, transparent, and accountable. We're clinician-led, founder-driven, and operating in true build mode. We're creating a system where high-quality treatment and high-performance operations can coexist — without compromise. If you're fueled by purpose, energized by challenge, and ready to help build a company the right way from day one, Terra is the place. The Opportunity The Outreach Manager is one of the most critical early hires at Terra. This role is often the first impression of Terra for referral partners, physicians, therapists, hospitals, schools, employers, and community organizations. You are the face, voice, and relational extension of the Terra brand in the market. This is not a passive marketing role. It is hands-on, relationship-driven, and performance-oriented. You will build and manage a defined territory, develop deep reciprocal referral partnerships, and work in lockstep with Admissions and Clinical leadership to ensure an exceptional experience from first call through admission and beyond. If you thrive on connection, credibility, and momentum — and want to help build something meaningful from the ground up — this role is for you. What You'll Own Community & Referral Relationship Development
- Build, manage, and grow a regional portfolio of referral partners across behavioral health, medical, educational, legal, and community ecosystems.
- Serve as a trusted resource to referral partners, providing education, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Represent Terra's clinical model, levels of care, and differentiators with clarity, integrity, and confidence. Territory Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a strategic outreach plan for your assigned territory, aligned with census and growth targets.
- Prioritize key cities, systems, and referral types based on market opportunity and performance data.
- Maintain a consistent, high-visibility presence in the community through in-person meetings, tours, and events. Events, Education & Brand Presence
- Plan, host, and attend professional networking events, lunches, open houses, CE events, and conferences.
- Coordinate and lead professional tours of Terra facilities.
- Partner with leadership to support educational programming and thought leadership initiatives. Admissions & Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Admissions to ensure smooth, timely, and compassionate handoffs during the referral and intake process.
- Support referral partners throughout the admissions journey, ensuring consistent communication and follow-up.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Operations, Marketing, and Executive leadership. Data, CRM & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate documentation of outreach activity, referral sources, and outcomes in the CRM.
- Track performance against KPIs including referral volume, conversion rates, and relationship growth.
- Use data to inform strategy, adjust territory focus, and continuously improve effectiveness. Budget & Resource Stewardship
- Manage territory-related expenses responsibly, including meals, events, and travel.
- Ensure outreach efforts are both relationship-driven and fiscally disciplined.
Days:
- Build a strong foundational referral network across priority partners.
- Fully understand Terra's clinical model, admissions process, and operational flow.
- Establish credibility and trust with internal teams and external partners.
- Implement a clear territory strategy with measurable activity and outcomes.
First Year:
- Consistently contribute to census growth across Terra programs.
- Build deep, durable referral partnerships with strong conversion and loyalty.
- Become a recognized, trusted presence in the regional behavioral health community.
- Help establish Terra's reputation as a values-driven, high-integrity provider. What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in outreach, business development, or marketing, preferably in behavioral health, healthcare, or a related field.
- Proven ability to build authentic, long-term professional relationships.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate clinical offerings and differentiators.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable building systems, territories, and relationships from scratch.
- Sales experience or comfort driving behaviors that lead to conversion and sustained partnerships.
- High level of organization, follow-through, and personal accountability.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory as needed. Education & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in a CRM system (Dazos, Salesforce or similar preferred).
- Strong proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to anticipate and respond to partner needs.
- Ability to present confidently to individuals and groups across clinical and professional settings.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and multitasking skills. Candidate Profile Personality & Values
- Authentic with High Integrity - leads with honesty, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
- Low Ego, Highly Collaborative - thrives in team environments and values shared success.
- Tenacious & Resilient - persistent, competitive, and energized by challenge.
- Resourceful & Self-Directed - takes ownership, manages time effectively, and drives results independently. Strategic Thinking
- Data-informed and outcomes-focused.
- Sound judgment with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Creative and proactive in identifying new opportunities and partnerships. How We Work at Terra
