The Sales Manager will have expertise in business to business (b2b) product sales through a multichannel sales model. This team leader will enhance the company's position and reputation by assisting in executing the sales strategy provided by the Senior Director, Sales and Marketing. Responsible for leading the sales team in driving marketing demand for our products and turning that demand into sales. Primary person responsible for ongoing coaching, training and day-to-day support to the sales team. Primary Responsibilities 1. Provide leadership, support and training to the sales team to meet the net sales, market share and selling cost budgets in support of the company's sales strategy. 2. Act as a team member coach when selling to senior stakeholders within the targeted customer base. 3. Be a mentor to, develop the skills and abilities of, and maintains the focus of the company's sales team, to meet both the current and future needs of the company. 4. Act as an engaged and collaborative team member within the leadership, sales, marketing and geographic teams in support of the team agreements and company values. 5. Lead the planning and execution of special projects and sales initiatives as directed by the Senior Director, Sales and Marketing. Additional Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist in planning, organizing and executing specific sales tactics to support the overall sales strategy of the company. Grow and maintain the net sales and market share for the company within their teams' territories. 2. Support the sales execution for the company's pricing strategy, including managing all exceptions to the published price lists. 3. Assist in recruiting, on boarding, and training sales team members as needed to meet the team's objectives. 4. As directed by the Senior Director, Sales and Marketing, execute customer and community events. 5. Analyze customer product and service needs and interests; prepare and make presentations to existing and potential customers. Increase sales team's proficiency in both areas. 6. Conduct all business transactions in a manner that upholds the high ethical standards of the company. 7. Provide coverage and fill in for Senior Director, Sales and Marketing, as needed. 8. Additional responsibilities as required. Knowledge Strong knowledge in the areas of b2b sales and sales management in a multi-channeled sales model; existing relationships, and experience selling to regional production builders, developers, and large general contractors. Experience selling to C-suite level decision makers using all appropriate tools. Preference given to applicants that have a successful track record of growing sales in the building materials space. Skills and Abilities 1. Demonstrate sound sales leadership through decision-making and strategy execution 2. Ability to build, support, train, and provide guidance to a sales team 3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 4. Experience using CRM and Lead Tracking Tools to maximize sales team members' effectiveness, efficiency, and increased win rate. 5. Successful candidate understands the marketing / sales relationship as a tool to drive sales. 6. Strong analytical and technology skills 7. Ability, and willingness, to learn on a continuous basis 8.
