This is a new-business development position focused on identifying, pursuing, and securing significant customers across the food, healthcare, distribution, and packaging channels. It is distinct from account management: the successful candidate will be measured on net-new revenue and account acquisition rather than on retention of an existing book of business. Target customers include food processors, co-packers, and food manufacturers; healthcare organizations such as hospitals, health systems, long-term care providers, and medical and laboratory supply distributors; wholesale and foodservice distributors; and packaging distributors. Scale of opportunity matters more than geographic footprint — a well-established single-state or regional distributor with meaningful volume is as valuable a target as a multi-state or national organization. The ideal candidate brings established relationships within the packaging or food supply channel, a demonstrated history of closing large accounts, and the negotiation skills required to structure high-volume supply programs. Key Responsibilities Identify, qualify, and close new high-volume accounts, including food processors and manufacturers, co-packers, healthcare systems and medical supply distributors, foodservice and wholesale distributors, and regional or national packaging distributors. Manage the complete sales cycle from initial outreach through contract execution, followed by a structured transition to the account service team. Leverage existing industry relationships to accelerate pipeline development and shorten time to first order. Negotiate pricing, terms, and ongoing supply programs that support aggressive growth while protecting margin. Represent the company at industry trade shows, customer facilities, and executive-level meetings. Monitor competitive activity, pricing dynamics, and market conditions, and communicate findings to leadership. Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast records, and consistently meet or exceed new-business revenue targets. Qualifications Minimum five years of sales experience in packaging, food supply, healthcare supply, or industrial distribution, with a documented record of personally sourcing and closing large accounts. An established network of purchasing, procurement, and operations decision-makers at organizations that purchase packaging in volume. Proven business development capability, including comfort with direct outreach, disciplined follow-up, and management of complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. Strong commercial negotiation skills, with the ability to defend pricing and structure profitable agreements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with credibility across all levels of a customer organization, from plant operations to executive procurement. Working knowledge of flexible packaging products, including poly bags and vacuum bags, is strongly preferred. Familiarity with food- or healthcare-industry packaging requirements, including relevant compliance and handling standards, is an advantage. Willingness to travel regularly to meet prospects and close business in person. Ability to work independently and productively in a remote, field-based capacity. Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Uncapped commission on new account revenue Travel and business expenses reimbursed Autonomy to develop and manage a territory, supported by an established supply base and reliable fulfillment
