Job Description

Hunter Wanted:
Build a Territory in Northeast Metal Roofing We're Architectural Sheetmetal Products (ASP) — a small, in-business-since-the-90s standing seam metal roofing manufacturer in Scotia, NY. We make panels and trim that go on commercial and high-end residential roofs across the Northeast, and we sell exclusively through distribution. We're hiring our first dedicated Territory Sales Representative. This is a build-the-territory role for someone who knows how to find construction projects, get in front of the right people, and bring orders home. If you're tired of inheriting someone else's accounts and want to actually build something, we want to talk. What You'll Actually Do This is a hunter role. Most days look something like this: Mine the Dodge Construction Network and other lead services for standing seam roofing opportunities across NY, NJ, CT, MA, VT, NH, and eastern PA. Get on the phone, get in the truck, and meet with roofing contractors, GCs, and architects to put ASP in the running for their next metal roof project. Manage projects from first contact through quote, distributor PO, and delivery — all of our orders flow through a distributor (which one is up to the contractor; we have an in-building affiliate when they don't have a preference). Build long-term relationships with the contractors who like working with you, so the next job comes back to ASP. Work with our small in-house team — owner, estimator, inside support — to keep deals moving. This role is based in our Scotia, NY office. You'll spend your time between the office and on the road meeting customers, with regional travel for jobsite visits, contractor meetings, and trade events. Work-from-home flexibility may become available over time as the role matures — but to start, we want you in the building with us. Compensation $52,000 base salary 5% commission on new project sales (with full transparency on how it's calculated — we'll walk you through the plan during the interview process) On-target earnings: $100,000-$160,000 in year one for someone who hits their stride Health insurance available Mileage and travel expenses reimbursed (or use of company vehicle) Be direct with us: this base is intentionally modest because the commission is real. If you want a comfortable salary with a token bonus, this isn't the right role. If you want to bet on yourself and earn big on your effort, keep reading. Who We're Looking For We care more about how you sell than what you've sold. Construction sales is a long-cycle, technical, relationship-driven game — and we want someone who's been in that world.
You probably have:
3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in construction, building products, or industrial manufacturing A track record of finding and closing deals you sourced yourself — not just managing a book of accounts handed to you Comfort reading construction drawings well enough to scope a project Familiarity with Dodge, ConstructConnect, or similar construction lead services A valid driver's license and willingness to travel the Northeast Home base within reasonable driving distance of Scotia, NY You're probably: Self-directed — you can build your own day and know what to do with it Comfortable with long sales cycles (roofing projects often take 6-18 months from first contact to PO) Honest about pipeline — we prefer to under promise and overdeliver Technically curious — you want to understand the product, not just pitch it Okay in a small-shop environment where you'll do your own quoting, follow-up, and admin Bonus points if you have: Direct experience selling metal roofing, standing seam, or architectural building products Existing relationships with regional contractors, GCs, or architects Hands-on experience with a CRM (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, etc.) Why ASP First dedicated sales hire — you'll have real influence on how we build this out Direct access to ownership — no layers, decisions get made fast Strong reputation in the Northeast metal roofing market In-house production with flexible lead times and teammates Clear path to grow into a player-coach role as we grow How to Apply Send your resume through Indeed. In your application or cover note, please include: A short story about a deal you developed from scratch — how you found it, how it closed (or why it didn't) What lead services or prospecting tools you have hands on experience with What you'd want to do in your first 90 days if we hired you That's it. We'll review every application and get back to qualified candidates within a week. ASP is an equal opportunity employer. We hire based on whether you can do the job and whether we'd want to work with you, period.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
