Job Description
This is a remote position serving the Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska territory.
Job Purpose:
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue, distribution and brand execution within an assigned geographic area. The role manages independent pet retailers, farm & feed accounts and distributor partners to deliver profitable growth, strong in-store execution and consistent brand representation. This is a heavy travel role with expectations of overnight travel weekly and some nights or weekends. This right person for this role has a strong desire to win, drive growth and own their territory. Revenue & Distribution Growth Deliver against territory sales targets for revenue, growth and distribution Expand distribution into new or lapsed retailers Drive placements of new innovation Drive same store growth via merchandising, promotional strategy and retail associate engagement Retail Execution & Relationship Management Develop and grow relationships with retailer store owners, managers and associates to partner and be advocates for our brand Ensure strong in-store execution: shelving, placement, pricing and promotional activity Execute new item launches, resets and planograms Conduct regular store visits with documented call reports and action plans Train retail staff on product benefits, differentiation and selling points Distributor Partnership Partner with distributor representatives to create a multiplicative impact in the market Conduct regular ride alongs with distributor reps to engage new retailers and ensure focus on MAPF brands among distributors Market Development Analyze territory performance (distributor to retailer data) to identify opportunities and risks, utilizing our available internal data Build and execute territory business plans aligned to company objectives Represent the brand at local events, regional or national trade shows and retailer meetings Trade and Promotion Management Execute promotions and programs within approved trade spend guidelines Ensure ROI focused use of promotional spend Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred Experience in pet food or farm & feed Excellent written and in person communication skills A self-starter with a results driven mindset Willing to travel extensively Excellent time management skills Relentless pursuit of excellence
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
This position is largely self-directed and requires a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. This position will be required to adhere to all safety requirements, in all work environments. This position requires travel, and the ability/willingness to travel via airlines and/or vehicle.
Specific physical requirements may include:
Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less. Occasionally climbing ladders and stairwells. Occasionally standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time.
