Job Description

Job Description:
As Wastewater Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee and coordinate the sales and purchasing activities foe the wastewater divsion of the company. You will be responsible for developing sales strategies and overseeing the procurement of goods and services. Your strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers will contribute to the achievement of sales targets and efficient procurement processes. You will also be responsible for scheduling, routing and dispatching DOT regulated delivery drivers while also communicating with customers about delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales:
Sales Strategy Development:
Implement sales strategies, goals, and targets aligned with the company's objectives. Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and customer needs to drive sales growth.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing solutions to meet their requirements. Work with customers on the delivery schedule of products purchased. Manage ongoing customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
Analyze market trends, customer feedback to forecast sales performance and identify areas for improvement. Review customer base and reach out to long serving customers who have not utilized service in a while. Also contact customers post delivery to gather satisfaction information or information to assist team in the future.
Sales Process Optimization:
Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, procedures, and systems to enhance sales efficiency and effectiveness. Recommend process changes and leverage sales technologies to streamline sales operations. Collaborate with the Assistant Operations Manager to ensure inventory levels and production schedules align with sales forecasts and demand.
Purchasing:
Vendor Identification and Selection:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, vendors, or contractors to meet the company's purchasing needs. Conduct supplier assessments, negotiate contracts, and establish strategic partnerships to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement.
Procurement Planning and Budgeting:
Develop and implement procurement plans and budgets aligned with the company's strategic objectives. Analyze purchasing requirements, monitor market trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Purchase Order Management:
Oversee the creation, review, and approval of purchase orders. COO or CFO must approve PO's $5k or over. Ensure timely and accurate procurement of goods and services, coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Manage relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, resolving issues. Collaborate with suppliers to improve service levels, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain good supplier relationships.
Inventory Management:
Collaborate with designated production team members to optimize stock levels, reduce holding costs, and ensure timely availability of materials or products. Implement inventory control measures and coordinate with internal departments to manage inventory replenishment and obsolescence.
Contract Management:
Negotiate and manage agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and agreed upon obligations. Monitor terms, prices, and service levels, and identify opportunities for renegotiation or improvement.
Dispatch:
Dispatching and Routing:
Assigning drivers and vehicles to specific routes and destinations based on factors like distance, delivery deadlines, and customer requirements. Optimizing routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Communication and Coordination:
Maintaining constant communication with drivers, providing them with clear instructions, and updating them on any changes in routes or delivery schedules. Coordinating with customers, warehouses, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Monitoring and Tracking:
Utilizing fleet management software and GPS tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations, speed, and fuel consumption. Tracking deliveries and updating relevant parties on shipment status.
Problem Solving:
Managing unexpected events, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, or changes in delivery requirements. Finding alternative solutions and adjusting schedules to minimize disruptions and ensure timely deliveries.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensuring that drivers adhere to company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations. Maintaining accurate records of driver activities, vehicle inspections, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyzing data related to fleet operations, such as driver performance, fuel efficiency, and delivery metrics. Generating reports to assess operational efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and support decision-making.
Customer Service:
Addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to deliveries. Providing excellent customer service by resolving issues promptly and maintaining positive relationships.
Safety and Risk Management:
Promoting a culture of safety among drivers by providing training on defensive driving, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations. Identifying and addressing potential risks to ensure the well-being of drivers and the protection of company assets.
Continuous Improvement:
Identifying opportunities to optimize fleet operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. Proposing and implementing process enhancements, technology upgrades, or other measures to enhance overall fleet performance.
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
Maintaining accurate records of all dispatch activities, driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and other relevant documentation.
Fleet Maintenance Planning:
Work with lead driver and fleet/logistics assistant to develop and implement maintenance schedules, preventive maintenance programs, and work plans to ensure the timely and initiative-taking maintenance of vehicles or equipment. Coordinate maintenance activities with operational schedules to minimize downtime and ensure fleet availability. This is worked in cooperation with Assistant Operations Manager and Lead Truck Driver.
Fleet Documentation and Reporting:
Provide fleet/logistics assistant with accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, inspection reports, and maintenance schedules. Generate reports on fleet maintenance metrics, performance, and expenses. Provide regular updates to management on the status of fleet maintenance operations.
Continuous Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve fleet maintenance processes, procedures, and systems. Keep up compliance with DOT permits in coordination with fleet records manager.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in sales management, purchasing management, dispatch or a similar role. Knowledge of sales strategies, market trends, and customer relationship management. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and people skills. Proficiency in using sales and purchasing software and tools. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

$48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
