STATUS AND SCOPE
The Director of Group Sales & Sponsorships is a full-time, exempt position responsible for growing group visitation, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and reseller distribution channels on behalf of the Garden. This position builds and manages relationships across San Antonio's hospitality, tourism, and business community to drive buyouts, corporate group sales, military group sales, and the Garden's Corporate Discount Program, while building a pipeline of sponsorships and reseller partnerships that generate new, diversified earned revenue. Success in this role requires strong sales acumen, relationship-building skills, and a collaborative approach with Marketing, Development, and Guest Experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and grow annual group sales and sponsorship revenue, setting quarterly targets and maintaining a rolling pipeline and forecast for the VP of Marketing & Communications and CFO. Lead direct sales across all group channels, including buyouts, corporate group sales, military group sales, and the Corporate Discount Program. Design, price, and sell sponsorship packages, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through contracting, activation, and renewal. Build and manage a reseller distribution channel with hotels, online travel agencies (OTAs), and youth tour operators (YTOs). Serve as the Garden's primary liaison to San Antonio's hospitality and tourism industry associations and chambers, representing the Garden at industry events and trade shows to generate qualified leads. Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records, delivering regular performance reporting and forecasts against quarterly and annual goals. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Development, and Guest Experience to ensure integrated campaigns, a unified prospect strategy, and seamless on-site delivery. Hire, train, and manage Group Sales & Sponsorship staff as the function grows, while serving as an active member of the Marketing & Communications leadership team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires occasional work during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and regular local travel to sales calls, industry functions, and community events. Work environment includes variable exposure to weather, noise, and frequent public interaction. Physical duties may include setting up and breaking down event and activation materials and equipment.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The Director of Group Sales & Sponsorships will have access to confidential information and is expected to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in sales, sponsorship, or business development. (Required) Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and closing new business. (Required) Skilled negotiator with experience structuring and closing sponsorship and partnership agreements. (Required) Established relationships within San Antonio's hospitality, tourism, and business community. (Preferred) Experience in tourism, hospitality, or ticketed attractions. (Preferred)

Long periods spent sitting at a desk, looking at a computer, or standing during presentations.
Communication:
Clear speaking and hearing abilities for phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person negotiations.
Technology Use:
