Our growing team of 25+ professionals strategically located in various regional offices specializes in infrastructure planning, transportation systems, and community development. With annual revenue currently over $8 million, Red Plains is entering an exciting stage of growth and organizational development. The firm is positioned to expand to $12-15 million in revenue over the next several years while continuing to strengthen its national reputation and internal leadership structure. Our leadership's focus on company culture, improved systems, and exceptional talent acquisition and development, has led to Red Plains Professional's significant growth over the past few years. To support this next phase, Red Plains is seeking a Director of Marketing who will play a central role in strengthening the firm's marketing efforts/impacts, internal systems, multimedia content library, rebranding, proposal development, and processes. Position Reports To Director of Operations and President/Owner. Working in conjunction with Regional Directors, Discipline Leads, and Client Managers. Position Overview Red Plains Professional (RPP) is seeking a Director of Marketing & Business Development to lead the development, execution, and long-term ownership of our marketing, proposal, and business development infrastructure. This role requires someone comfortable operating in both strategic leadership and hands-on execution capacities. Red Plains is a growing entrepreneurial professional consulting firm where leaders actively participate in the day-to-day implementation of the systems they help design. The right candidate takes pride in ownership of outcomes and is willing to support all aspects of marketing execution ranging from high-level strategy and proposal leadership to conference preparation, content production, branding coordination, website updates, and logistical support when needed. As the company grows, additional support resources may develop around this role, but the initial expectation is broad ownership and execution capability. This role is responsible for building scalable systems, supporting technical staff in pursuit efforts, and developing clear, professional content that reflects the depth of our engineering, planning, GIS, and construction management services all within a sharp, modernized, and continuously evolving marketing style guide and resource library. The ideal candidate brings A/E/C industry experience, understands how to translate technical work into compelling messaging, and thrives in building structured, repeatable marketing systems that support company growth. This is not purely a graphic design role. While creative capability is important, the position is fundamentally systems-driven and focused on leadership, execution, coordination, measurable outcomes, and scalable marketing infrastructure. To grow we need a dedicated marketing person who can take responsibility in how our firm reaches and impacts our current markets and potential future growth markets. To date in RPP, we have had multiple people contributing to our marketing efforts in meaningful ways while responsible for their other technical production or operations/administrative duties. In our growth plans, it is time for a dedicated Marketing Director and we are looking for the right candidate to take ownership of this very important aspect of our business. RPP is growing organically and through very responsible market development practices. We wish to continue that with the leadership and support of a marketing professional. Key Responsibilities 1. Proposal & Pursuit Leadership Lead preparation of proposals, SOQs, and interview materials Develop and improve standardized proposal processes and templates Coordinate with discipline leads for technical content Track win/loss performance and improve outcomes Support opportunity identification and pursuit strategy through modern CRM and AI-supported workflows. Lead coordination and implementation of Vantagepoint CRM and Proposal Management Software, creating a company marketing culture and workflows within a trackable system. 2. Technical Content Development Translate technical services into clear, compelling marketing content Maintain consistent messaging, branding, and visual standards Support technical staff in development of meaningful project narratives and case studies 3. Marketing Systems & CRM Management Implement and manage VantagePoint CRM designed to work in concert with our Ajera Financial and Project Management Software Track pipeline and reporting to and with the Director of Operations and President Build marketing SOPs and workflows 4. Fuze7 Coordination & System Transition Coordinate with Fuze7 during development of foundational branding, website, proposal, and marketing systems, with long-term transition of ownership to internal management. Ensure alignment with company needs, current and future Take full ownership after engagement ends 5. Website & Graphic Design Maintain and update current Squarespace website and new coming WordPress website Evolve branding and materials Use MS Office and design tools for production. Lead Generation Use modern tools to identify opportunities including the use of AI tools and systems Support outreach strategies Coordinate with leadership and technical staff to ensure business development efforts, messaging, and follow-through remain aligned and professional. 7. Business Development Support Assist with strategic partnerships Support leadership coordination 8. Conference Strategy Generate and ensure branding is clean and clear consistent with company standards Generate multimedia campaigns geared towards specific conference/targeted markets to include large backlit displays, marketing brochures both digital and printed, promotional items selection and production coordination, business cards, staff apparel, conference giveaways, etc. Manage with administrative support registrations, shipping, and conference logistics Manage conferences and follow-ups Convert attendance into opportunities 9. Social Media Develop and manage a professional social media presence aligned with company culture, technical expertise, and strategic growth objectives Develop and execute targeted campaigns that maintain a professional, authentic, and meaningful market presence Qualifications 5-10+ years in A/E/C marketing Proposal development and coordination experience required Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and pursuit schedules within a fast-paced professional services environment. Leading the marketing efforts and aiding the company in the development of improved marketing presence and campaigns strategically through scalable systems is key! An owner mindset, who is helping shape and implement the foundational marketing systems through a shared vision and mission with the Management Team, who defines success and growth by improving company culture, our external image to markets, current clients, and with new prospective clients is a must. The selected candidate will be well-supported with the understanding that with authority comes responsibility. Through direct and quality communication the candidate will deploy the tact, skill, and professionalism needed to assess existing marketing systems and personnel strengths and weaknesses, all aiding in the continued evolution of the firm that started in 1997. Growth Opportunity The Director of Marketing will work closely with the President and firm leadership as Red Plains continues to strengthen its marketing outreach, internal structure, and footprint reach. As the firm grows, this role offers the opportunity to take on increasing leadership responsibilities within the organization. The President and management team places value on improved marketing opportunities that continue to build on the foundation we have but further enables growth. As such, this position is performance bonus eligible.
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
