Job Description
Job Overview Smith's Kitchen is hiring a dependable, energetic Food Cashier who can help maintain the Southern hospitality and family-oriented atmosphere our customers know and love. This position is more than taking orders and processing payments. Our cashier is often the first person customers meet, so applicants must be welcoming, respectful, patient, and able to make every guest feel like family. Responsibilities include greeting customers with a positive attitude, accurately taking food orders, processing cash and card payments, answering menu questions, packaging and calling out completed orders, and communicating clearly with the kitchen staff. The cashier must remain friendly and professional during long lines, busy rushes, customer concerns, and high-pressure situations. This is an outdoor position, and employees must be prepared to work in changing weather conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, cold temperatures, wind, light rain, and other inclement weather when the business remains open. Applicants should be comfortable standing and working outside for extended periods. The ideal candidate must be punctual, honest, dependable, team-oriented, and willing to help keep the cashier and pickup areas clean, organized, and stocked. Evening, weekend, holiday, and special-event availability may be required. Previous cashier, restaurant, or customer-service experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
