Responsibilities Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods with professionalism. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance sales opportunities. Stock shelves and maintain organized displays to ensure product availability and attractive presentation. Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing features and benefits to encourage purchases. Manage the cash drawer efficiently, balancing at shift end and handling cash handling procedures responsibly. Maintain knowledge of retail store product offerings, including grocery items if applicable, to assist customers effectively. Follow phone etiquette standards when taking orders or providing assistance over the phone. Assist with merchandising efforts to keep the store clean, organized, and inviting for shoppers. Support inventory management through stocking and inventory counts as needed. Experience Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus. Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership roles or training new team members. Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is essential for smooth transactions. Strong communication skills and phone etiquette are necessary for engaging with customers professionally.
