This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: required accuracy and attention to detail. Incumbents work within a framework of policies and procedures. This job reports to Director of Food Services/School Principal Essential Functions Arranges food and beverage items (e.g. placing in steam tables, a la carte trays, filling racks, mobile carts, etc.) for the purpose of making items available to students and staff. Collects payments for food items from students and staff for the purpose of completing transactions and/or securing funds for reimbursement of costs. Monitors students' food choices for the purpose of meeting mandated requirements and ensuring adequate nutrition. Prepares a variety of lunchroom-related reports (e.g. daily/monthly meal and revenue; bank deposits; lunch counts, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. Prepares documentation of sales transactions (e.g. daily cash receipts, record; breakfast and lunch counts; etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. Processes a variety of data (e.g. free and reduced meal status, pre-funded payments, eligibility categories, credit accounts, daily sales transactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, maintaining accurate account balances and conveying information. Processes free and reduced meal applications for the purpose of determining eligibility under program guidelines. Reconciles cash and credit receipts to meal counts for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with related practices, policies and/or regulations. Responds to inquiries of students, staff and the public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the type and/or cost of meals and food items, account balances, etc. Serves a la carte food and beverage items for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional requirements and/or requests of students and school personnel. Assists students (e.g. retrieving utensils, cleaning spills, finding seats, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a safe, timely and healthy mealtime experience. Intervenes during incidents, accidents and/or potential emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing lunchroom disruptions and/or injury to involved parties. Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel. Other Functions Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE

Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 10% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
