This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse pharmacy settings, including hospital, community, and LTC (Long-Term Care) environments. You will be the friendly face at the point of sale, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to all pharmaceutical regulations. Responsibilities Process patient transactions efficiently and accurately at the cash register while providing excellent customer service Assist pharmacists with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and data entry into pharmacy software systems Support pharmacy technicians with medication preparation, including compounding medications and sterile IV admixture procedures using aseptic techniques Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, patient information, and inventory logs in accordance with confidentiality protocols Aid in medication intake procedures by verifying prescriptions, updating patient records, and assisting with drug regulation compliance Support hospital or community pharmacy teams by understanding medical terminology and pharmacological medical terminology to facilitate effective communication Qualifications Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a pharmacy setting is highly preferred, especially within hospital or LTC pharmacy environments Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation policies, and sterile IV compounding techniques Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for data entry and medication management Basic life support (BLS) certification is a plus to ensure safety during patient interactions Strong understanding of medical terminology related to acute care and pharmacology Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality Ability to follow detailed procedures for aseptic technique and sterile IV admixture procedures while adhering to hospital or pharmacy protocols This role offers an engaging environment where your attention to detail and dedication to patient well-being will make a meaningful difference.
