Role Overview:

The Cashier is responsible for ensuring Wilder guests experience a seamless and elevated checkout process. This role oversees front-end operations, including cash handling, customer service, and presentation of the checkout area. The position directly manages cashier activities and oversees the self-checkout area, coordinates with stockers to keep front-of-house areas clean and well-stocked, and serves as a visible point of contact for guest interactions, returns, and deterring theft. The Cashier plays a critical role in balancing speed, accuracy, and hospitality at the final step of the guest journey.

Responsibilities:

Guest Service & Checkout Lead by example in delivering fast, accurate, and friendly checkout experiences. Ensure cashier team members provide exceptional customer service and resolve guest issues promptly. Oversee bagging standards, product handling, and FOH cleanliness to reflect Wilder's premium positioning. Cash Management Manage cash handling procedures including tills, safe counts, and end-of-day reconciliation. Ensure cashiers follow all cash management SOPs with precision and accountability. Report discrepancies, train staff on best practices, and maintain audit-ready records. Operations & Presentation Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready checkout stations. Monitor lines, throughput, and staffing levels to optimize flow during peak traffic. Support promotional launches, in-store events, and guest service initiatives. Partner with Center Store Lead on front-end merchandising and cross-departmental execution. Coordinate with service team members to ensure FOH shelves, impulse displays, and promotional areas are properly stocked and merchandised throughout the day.

Requirements:

1-3 years of grocery, retail, or hospitality experience, with prior cashier or front-end experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and customer service standards. Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

Physical & Schedule Requirements:

Flexible scheduling required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and be on feet for entire shift (8+ hours). Must be able to lift at least 30-50 pounds when assisting with stocking or product resets. Comfortable working in a busy, guest-facing environment.
