Lexus of North Miami, a dealership in the Craig Zinn Automotive Group , is looking for Cashiers to join the team. Our Cashiers enjoy a fast paced and exciting environment with great opportunities for growth. The Cashier receives cash from customers and employees for goods and other transactions, accurately recording the amount received. Often being the customer's last interaction, the cashier must represent the dealership in a cordial and professional manner. Essential Functions:
Receives and processes payments in the form of cash, checks and/or credit card payments from customers and records the amount received. Completes transactions immediately at time of customer purchase. Assures signatures on necessary documents from customers/managers at time of transaction/payment. Issues receipts to customers and makes any necessary changes accurately. Ascertains and record totals of counter tickets and repair orders on adding machine tape and verify against all cash and credit card payments on hand at end of shift. Closes out for service day and drops off money and receipted to appropriate area. Sends daily receipts with cash/credit card to the centralized accounting office the next morning. Notifies management of all repair orders and counter tickets that are pending customer pick up. Refers customers who have specific questions to the appropriate department and/or individual. Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and/or refers the complaint to appropriate individual for further communication. In smaller dealerships may perform Receptionist duties not limited to the following: May answer and route incoming calls, using the caller's name whenever possible. May develop knowledge of basic dealership information in order to respond to callers who have general inquires, minimizing the time callers are on hold and checks back with them frequently to ensure they wish to continue holding. May maximize usage of voice mail system, takes thorough messages. May perform other duties as requested
Required Education & Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous customer service experience preferred. Previous clerical/ office experience preferred. Previous cashier experience preferred. Basic computer software and internet proficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Communicates effectively by phone, in person and in writing. Organizes work effectively, prioritizes objectives, and exercises independent judgement. Must be friendly and maintain a positive and professional attitude. Ability to multitask and deal with a fast evolving environment. Ability to work under stress. Should have phone etiquette. Fast learner due to constant technology evolution. Intermediate language capabilities such as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Intermediate math capabilities such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Intermediate reasoning capabilities such as the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
