Job Description
Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Stocker / Cashier to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring the store is well-stocked and organized. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail sales or grocery store environments. Bilingual abilities and supervising experience are a plus, helping to enhance the shopping experience for diverse customers. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, gain retail experience, and contribute to a positive shopping environment. Responsibilities Operate POS systems efficiently for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure attractive displays and easy customer access Assist customers with product questions, product demos, and upselling opportunities to increase sales Maintain proper merchandising standards to promote products effectively Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels and coordinating with supervisors for restocking needs Perform cashier duties accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures Support in supervising team members during shifts when applicable Uphold store cleanliness and safety standards throughout the work area Communicate clearly with team members and customers using phone etiquette and professional language Requirements Previous experience in retail sales, grocery store, or similar environment preferred Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations Ability to perform stocking duties efficiently and accurately Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base Supervising experience is advantageous but not required Professional phone etiquette when interacting with customers or vendors Ability to upsell products effectively to enhance sales performance Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if needed This position offers an engaging work environment where team members can grow their retail skills while delivering exceptional service.
