Job Description
Job Overview We are a family-owned liquor store in Cumming, GA looking for an experienced cashier to join our team at Cumming Beverage Mart! Our current available shifts include Weekdays (Mid-shift, morning, night) and Weekends (Mid-shift, Sundays). We are located off Highway 20 and Trammel. Responsibilities Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and using our inventory system to check stock Maintain knowledge of store products, alcohol regulations, and more to best assist customers Stock shelves and organize displays at the front-end of the store to ensure organized stock Manage the cash drawer responsibly by handling cash handling procedures, balancing registers at shift end, and adhering to cash handling policies. Engage customers in friendly conversation using effective phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remotely. Regularly check stock in our POS-integrated inventory system to stock products, mark them out of stock on the shelf, and radio for products to be brought down from the warehouse Requirements Previous retail experience with cashiering or POS system operation preferred; training will be provided MUST be eligible to hold a Forsyth County Alcohol Serving Permit, including the county's background check Ability to reliably come in on-time for all shifts Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs. Ability to handle retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional phone etiquette. Basic math skills for balancing cash drawers and processing sales efficiently. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and alcohol sales regulations is beneficial but not mandatory; we will train you. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift light loads, and work flexible shifts potentially including evenings and weekends.
