Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Stocker to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while efficiently managing transactions and maintaining product availability on the sales floor. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy and integrity. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries. Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed. Stock shelves and maintain product displays to ensure merchandise is organized and visually appealing. Assist in merchandising efforts by arranging products according to store standards and promotions. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies. Utilize retail math skills to manage cash handling and ensure accurate till balances. Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer calls or inquiries. Experience Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and basic math skills is essential. Upselling techniques to encourage additional purchases during transactions. Knowledge of merchandising principles to create attractive product displays. Experience in stocking shelves efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Background in retail sales with an understanding of customer needs and preferences. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with customers and team members.
