Full Job Description Brief:
Cashier is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly, welcoming manner. Engaging with guests, helping customers navigate the menu, make suggestions for a better experience, encourage up-sale of items and place customer orders through Toast POS. They will also assist with other service line or busser duties when needed or assigned by a leader.
Compensation:

Traits/Qualities:
Friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine desire to serve others. Strong verbal communication skills; comfortable initiating conversation. Basic computer skills for POS operation. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs for extended periods. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
Preferred:
6+ months in a high-volume QSR, café, or retail environment. Food-handler card (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction & Sales Welcome each guest with genuine enthusiasm, engaging conversation, and a smile. Master the menu—ingredients, flavors, allergens, and seasonal specials—so you can answer questions and make personalized recommendations. Proactively suggest add-ons (e.g., sides, beverages, desserts) and limited-time offers to boost check average while enhancing the guest's meal. Input orders quickly and accurately into the POS, verifying modifiers and special requests. Operational Excellence Monitor the register area and beverage station; restock utensils, napkins(when needed), and grab-and-go items before they run low. Communicate low stock or equipment issues to the Management immediately. Maintain a spotless front counter and register area - wiping, sanitizing, sweeping, and removing trash as needed to meet health-department standards. Assist with opening and closing duties Jump into other roles during non peak periods—expo, busser, or line support—after proper training. Uphold all food-safety, sanitation, and personal-hygiene protocols. Model our core values of quality, hospitality, and speed; contribute ideas that improve guest experience and sales.
Reports To:
This position will report to all FOH management. This includes Team Leads, Assistant General Manager and General Manager.
