The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area. During busy periods or when needed, the Cashier will also assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation, garnishing, stocking, and other support duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well as part of a team, pays attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently. Operate the cash register and POS system. Accurately process cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and other approved forms of payment. Provide customers with accurate change and receipts. Answer customer questions and provide assistance when needed. Handle customer concerns professionally and involve a manager when necessary. Maintain an accurate cash drawer and report any discrepancies to management. Follow all company policies and procedures for cash handling and payment processing. Assist with returns, exchanges, discounts, and other transactions according to company policy. Keep the cashier and front counter area clean, organized, and properly stocked. Assist with stocking supplies, condiments, sauces, side items, and other products. Support the kitchen team during busy periods or when additional help is needed. Drop and prepare side items according to company standards. Assist with basic food preparation and kitchen tasks. Help garnish and plate food as directed. Add flags, labels, or other designated items to sauces and food orders. Prepare and organize sauces, condiments, garnishes, and side items for service. Communicate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently. Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Follow all safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures. Work cooperatively with team members and management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous cashier, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic math and money-handling skills. Ability to learn and operate a POS system. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Willingness to assist with kitchen duties when needed. Ability to follow instructions and company procedures. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to regularly bend, reach, and move around the work area. Ability to lift and carry supplies or items as required by the position. Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
