Responsibilities Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions efficiently. Handle cash drawer operations with integrity, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift. Assist customers with product questions, including providing product demos when appropriate, and upselling related items to enhance their shopping experience. Stock produce displays and maintain merchandise presentation to ensure freshness and visual appeal. Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering inquiries, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout interactions. Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders, ensuring clear communication. Support merchandising efforts by organizing products on shelves and assisting with inventory management. Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations for seamless checkout experiences. Prior supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in managing team tasks or training new staff. Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for retail math calculations and cash handling. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members. Knowledge of grocery store or retail store product knowledge, especially in produce or grocery items. Experience with merchandising, stocking, and maintaining store displays to attract customers. Bilingual skills are desirable to serve a diverse customer base better. Familiarity with retail sales techniques such as upselling and product demos enhances sales performance.
