Job Title:
Cenex Garnett, KS - Cashier/Crew Member Position Summary The Cashier / Crew Member is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, stocking merchandise, and supporting daily store operations. Team members play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring efficient and safe operation of the gas station and convenience store. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Assist customers with purchases, product inquiries, and store information. Resolve customer concerns or direct them to management when necessary. Maintain a positive attitude and provide exceptional service at all times. Cash Handling & Sales Operate cash registers, credit card terminals, and lottery systems accurately. Process cash, credit, debit, and mobile payment transactions. Balance cash drawer and maintain accountability for all transactions. Verify age requirements for tobacco, alcohol, and other restricted products where applicable. Store Operations Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise. Rotate products and monitor expiration dates. Receive and organize deliveries. Maintain inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items. Prepare and display promotional materials and signage. Cleaning & Maintenance Keep store floors, counters, restrooms, and food service areas clean and sanitary. Empty trash receptacles and maintain exterior cleanliness around fuel pumps and parking areas. Report maintenance, safety, or equipment issues to management promptly. Safety & Compliance Follow all company policies and procedures. Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards. Observe safety practices when handling fuel-related operations and cleaning chemicals. Assist in preventing theft and report suspicious activity. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail, customer service, or cashier experience is preferred but not required. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
