Pemberton Farms Marketplace Pemberton Farms is a fourth-generation, family-owned specialty grocery store and has been an integral part of the Cambridge community for over 90 years! Pemberton boasts a busy deli, year-round garden center, and gift basket division. We are known for our elegant presentation of local produce and other New England specialty products, as well as our community outreach programs. We pride ourselves on exceptional quality and customer service and seek staff members who want to contribute to our mission. Seeking part-time availability for afternoon and evening hours some weekdays and especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until Close (9:00pm/10:00pm) Current rate for BWL associates is $19/hour
Position Duties:
Must have regular weekend and evening availability Experience selling BWL in retail or restaurants Experience and interest with cheese and charcuterie is helpful as our departments work closely with one another
Job Description:
Deliver friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service to all patrons, creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience. Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers, including guidance on beer, wine, and spirits selections and quantities for events or special occasions. Accurately perform cashier duties, including scanning merchandise, processing sales transactions, handling cash and electronic payments. Verify customer identification in accordance with all applicable alcohol sales laws and company policies; promptly report any violations or concerns to management. Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and company regulations related to alcohol sales, cash handling, and operational procedures. Receive and process incoming inventory, including verifying shipments against invoices, checking for accuracy and quality, and properly storing products. Assist in performing periodic inventory of department stock. Maintain appropriate stock levels by restocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring proper product rotation. Coordinate and fulfill online delivery orders accurately and within established timeframes. Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding priorities, inventory needs, and operational updates. Complete daily department tasks and perform additional duties as assigned to support overall store and department operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Experience in operating a cash register and making change. Experience in retail sales. Ability to stand for up to eight hours a day and lift up to 50lbs
Position Detail:
Part-time (under 30 hours/week) $19.00 per hour
