Farmers Market Cashier

Midnight Our Seafood is a locally owned seafood company bringing fresh, sustainably sourced seafood directly to our community. We are looking for a friendly, dependable Farmers Market Cashier to represent our brand at local farmers markets. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys customer interaction, local food systems, and working in an outdoor market environment. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide warm, knowledgeable service Operate cash box and mobile POS systems (cash, credit cards, Venmo, etc.) Accurately process transactions and handle money Answer customer questions about seafood offerings, pricing, and basic storage or cooking tips (training provided) Help set up and break down the market booth (tables, signage, coolers, ice) Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe booth environment Assist with restocking seafood and ice as needed Follow basic food safety and handling guidelines Qualifications Friendly, customer-focused attitude Comfortable handling cash and electronic payments Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (coolers, ice, product) Interest in seafood, food, or local/sustainable sourcing preferred Previous cashier, retail, food service, or farmers market experience a plus (not required) What We Offer Supportive, team-oriented work environment Flexible, seasonal schedule Training on seafood products and handling
