Our Cashiers connect with, support, and uplift the lives of the students, faculty, staff, and guests we serve in a school environment. The role goes beyond operating the register—it is about delivering Genuine Foods' culture of hospitality while providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming dining experience for every guest.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Genuine-quality customer service to all customers by greeting, assisting, and thanking guests in a friendly and professional manner. Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, credit/debit cards, meal plans, and other forms of payment. Follow all cash handling, balancing, and security procedures. Assist customers with questions regarding menu items, meal plans, and dining services. Ensure food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards are followed at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cashier station and dining area. Restock supplies, condiments, beverages, and service items as needed, following proper FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Support opening and closing duties, including cleaning and preparation tasks. Work collaboratively with dining services team members to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer experiences. Assist with additional dining hall support duties as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be flexible, dependable, and team-oriented. Minimum of 1 year of customer service, cashier, retail, hospitality, or food service experience preferred. Experience operating a cash register or POS system preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment. Punctual and able to adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods' mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies, and happiness. Must be able to work successfully in a school environment.
