Gas Station Attendant/Cashier Akar Auto Center Waltham, MA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $15.50 - $17.50 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Authentication Customer communication Pre-cooking preparation Cash register operations Retail store experience Full Job Description Overview Akar Auto is hiring dependable part/full-time cashiers for our new Waltham gas station. This is a small customer counter, not a full convenience store. The primary responsibilities are operating the cash register, processing fuel and lottery transactions, assisting customers, and keeping the counter area clean and organized. There is no food preparation and no large store inventory to stock. Employees must be comfortable working independently and maintaining an accurate cash drawer. Responsibilities Operate the cash register accurately Process cash and credit-card transactions Process fuel purchases Sell lottery tickets and follow all required procedures Verify identification when required Assist customers with payment and fuel-pump questions Count and reconcile the cash drawer Maintain an organized register and customer area Follow fuel-emergency and safety procedures Report equipment, payment, or customer problems to management Arrive on time and reliably cover assigned shifts Qualifications Dependable attendance and punctuality Honest and responsible Basic cash-handling and arithmetic skills Comfortable working independently Professional communication with customers Able to follow lottery, identification, fuel, and safety procedures Able to stand for extended periods Reliable transportation to Waltham Previous cashier, retail, lottery, or gas-station experience is helpful but not required
