Food and Beverage Front of House Reports to: General Manager, Assistant Manager General Purpose The Cashier is the first and last point of contact for Butterbird guests. They are responsible for delivering a warm, efficient, and accurate guest experience at the register, whether in-store or for takeout/delivery. This role requires balancing speed, accuracy, and hospitality to ensure our guests receive the right order, the right way, every time. Essential Duties Greet every guest with a genuine smile, eye contact, and friendly attitude. Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system; repeat orders back to guests to confirm. Process all transactions—cash, credit, and digital payments—efficiently and accurately. Manage to-go and third-party delivery orders (e.g., UberEats, DoorDash), verifying accuracy before handing off. Communicate clearly with kitchen and expo staff to ensure smooth ticket flow. Monitor the dining room, beverage station, condiment station, and trash areas to ensure cleanliness and proper stocking. Answer guest questions about the menu, allergens, or promotions; escalate concerns to a manager when necessary. Execute opening and closing side work, including cash drawer reconciliation. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Answer phone calls and navigate guest needs. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous cashier, retail, or food service experience is a plus but not required. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail. Must be upbeat, reliable, and customer-oriented. Preferred Requirements 1+ years of guest service experience in restaurants or retail. Working knowledge of Toast or other POS systems. Familiarity with food safety protocols. Physical Demands Frequently stands, walks, talks, and listens. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Able to work in a loud, fast-paced environment. Certificates/Licenses ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and communicate clearly in English. Attention to cleanliness, safety, and accuracy. Excellent people skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Responsible and trustworthy when handling money and guest transactions.
