Summary Kittery Trading Post's Cashier position is based in Kittery, ME. This role is vital in supporting our mission to serve outdoor enthusiasts by delivering exceptional customer service and expert product knowledge. Join us to help customers gear up for their adventures and make lasting memories. Must be able to work at least one weekend day. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions Receiving funds from customers in payment of goods Understanding the retail product basics Disbursing funds, and recording all transactions Ensure excellent customer service at all times. Support team members in daily store operations Qualifications Proven experience with POS systems and retail sales. Must have the ability to lift between 20-30 pounds repetitively as a Cashier Cashiers should possess strong interpersonal and/or customer service skills Should demonstrate an ability to work independently and follow instructions as a Cashier Should have basic computer skills, and a working knowledge of windows Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure Should have strong mathematical skills Must demonstrate correct usage of the telephone, computer, pricing equipment and proper completion of all paperwork Prior retail/customer service experience is not required but preferred Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to upsell and promote products effectively. Knowledge of outdoor gear or hunting supplies is preferred. Bilingual abilities are advantageous but not required. Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions. Friendly, team-oriented attitude.
