Job Description
The Temporary Campus Store Cashier serves as a customer service contact to help ensure student, faculty and staff bookstore needs are met. The Temporary Campus Store Cashier uses a point of sale register to process sales in a timely, accurate and efficient manner; receipts money, checks, credit/debit cards, gift certificates and financial aid payments and reconciles their cash drawer to prepare a balanced bank deposit. He/She assists with receiving, pricing and merchandising store items and maintains the store in a neat, clean and orderly manner. This position is seasonal and hours will vary. Duties/Functions Reconciles and balances a daily register deposit of cash, checks and charges Processes sales for textbooks, supplies, sundry/novelty items and financial aid charges using the point of sale system Assists in pricing, stocking and shelving of books, supplies and sundries Assists in receiving, verifying and checking-in of merchandise Answers incoming calls and assists customers with questions and concerns Ensures that the store is maintained in a clean and orderly manner and performs general cleaning duties between busy periods and at the beginning and end of the shift Assist the full time staff on special projects as assigned Possesses an awareness of all promotional items and advertisements Observes customer traffic and requests additional assistance as needed Demonstrate and model the College's employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork.
