Cashier

Job Summary Our Cashiers are the face of our store, which not only provides excellent customer service but also processes transactions efficiently and ensures positive checkout experience for the customer. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, customer-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties Customer Service & Interaction:

Greet customers warmly upon entry and thank them for their purchase upon exit in an enthusiastic manner. Handle customer enquiries, provide information about products, promotions, loyalty program (Reward) and store policies.

Transaction Processing & Cash Handling:

Scan and weight product accurately. Communicate with customers clearly about the total amount of their purchases. Redeem coupons and loyalty program (Reward) points accurately. Process various forms of payment including cash, credit or debit card, EBT, WIC and gift cards. Count and manage cash accurately when providing changes to customers. Bag items properly following the store's instruction or customer's preference. Adhere to the age verification policies when selling the age restricted item like Alcohol or other items brought up by the system. Assist other cashiers as needed.

Register Operations & Maintenance:

Maintain the register area neat, clean and presentable. Fulfil the bag rack before and after the shift. Return the items that customers do not want to the designated areas. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager. Qualifications High school diploma (preferred) Previous retail or grocery experience (preferred but not required). Excellence interpersonal and communication in English. Strong basic math skill for accurate cash handling and calculation. Basic computer literacy and ability to learn POS system quickly. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally) Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
