Job Summary:
The Vault Clerk is responsible for handling, recording, and securing cash, valuables, or sensitive documents within a vault or secure facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records of transactions and ensuring compliance with security and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, verify, and record incoming cash, coin, checks, or other valuables. Prepare and package outgoing orders for distribution or transfer. Maintain detailed records of all vault activity including inventory logs and transaction reports. Balance vault room daily and reconcile any discrepancies. Monitor security protocols and report any suspicious activity immediately. Operate cash counting machines and other equipment used in vault operations. Assist with audits and inventory counts as needed. Adhere strictly to company policies, security procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support other team members and departments as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred. Previous experience in cash handling, banking, or secure operations is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic math and computer skills (Excel, inventory systems, etc.). Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Must pass background check and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
Secure and highly controlled environment. May require early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on operations.
