Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers as they enter the store, offering assistance with products and services. Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policy regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Respond to customer inquiries regarding products or services in a knowledgeable and friendly manner. Monitor checkout lines and manage the flow to reduce wait times for customers. Perform daily cash management and ensure the accuracy of the cash drawer. Assist in arranging store displays and ensure that products are attractively presented. Upsell additional products when appropriate and beneficial to the customer. Assist with inventory control, including receiving and stocking merchandise. Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area and complete other general cleaning duties. Participate in periodic team meetings and training sessions to enhance sales techniques and improve customer service skills. Requirements Previous experience in a retail, cashier, or sales position preferred but not needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in managing money and operating a cash register. Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices. Knowledgeable in handling and solving customer grievances. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle merchandise and supplies up to 30 pounds. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Detail-oriented and highly organized. A team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues and management.
