Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges swiftly. Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed to enhance their shopping experience. Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, restock merchandise, and ensure shelves are well-stocked through merchandising and stocking tasks. Upsell products by recommending relevant items during transactions to boost sales and meet store goals. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone etiquette or in person. Support store operations by supervising other cashiers when required, ensuring smooth checkout processes during busy periods. Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and product placement to optimize sales opportunities. Experience Previous cashiering experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for quick calculations are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse customers are vital for success in this role. Bilingual abilities are a plus, helping us serve our diverse community more effectively. Supervising experience in retail or customer service roles is advantageous for leadership responsibilities.
