Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions efficiently and accurately. Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with integrity and precision. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and guiding customers through their shopping experience. Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and displayed for easy access. Assist with merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and restocking shelves as needed. Support inventory management by participating in stock counts, stocking shelves, and alerting management to low inventory levels. Use phone etiquette skills to answer inquiries professionally while directing calls or assisting customers over the phone. Demonstrate effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and ensure store operations run smoothly. Engage in basic retail math for accurate cash register balancing at shift end. Participate in occasional product demos or promotional events to boost sales and enhance customer engagement. Supervise or assist other team members when needed, fostering a cooperative work environment. Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus. Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in a bilingual environment if applicable. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations. Knowledge of grocery store operations or experience working in a grocery environment is advantageous. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Friendly demeanor with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
