The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing transactions. You will be expected to pass and hold a current food manager certificate, and learn about our cheese offerings to explain to customers. We are a start-up cheese manufacturer, this position requires Saturday and/or Sunday availability, but other shifts and duties may be offered as an option as we grow. We pride ourselves on sourcing our products locally and will give preference to internal promotion. This job requires someone that has great people skills. Engaging customers with free samples will result in more sales and you earning more. Duties Operate cash registers and point of sale (POS) systems to process customer transactions accurately. Increase sales by actively engaging customers to try free samples. Ability to engage customers without fear of rejections. Not everyone you encounter will be nice, you receive a portion of the profits from your sales. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and items are properly displayed. Maintain current food manager certification for sampling, and know/learn proper handling for food samples. Be able to lift >50 lbs Be a self starter, able to set up and/or tear down market stall alone and problem solve. Pickup product, tables, coolers at facility, setup at market, return product, tables, coolers to facility at end of shift in Irving. You will need reliable transportation, all items fit in a medium size car. Experience Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required. Previous experience with food prep or selling preferred. Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and basic cash handling procedures Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to product knowledge and sales techniques.
